Pricing

Clear starting points, priced around outcomes instead of hours

Start with a free site report, a focused assessment, or an ongoing technical partnership. You will know the investment before work begins, what success should look like, and what could change the scope.

Start with clarity

A useful first step at every level

Smaller websites should not need an enterprise consulting budget to get an experienced technical opinion. These starting points make the first decision easier without turning the work into open-ended hourly billing.

First look

$0

A concise review of public technical signals, written in plain language and focused on the issues most worth investigating.

  • Performance and Core Web Vitals signals
  • Basic technical SEO and accessibility checks
  • Three recommended next steps

Straightforward sites

Website snapshot

$500

A senior review for a smaller marketing website when you need a clear expert opinion before deciding what to change.

  • Representative page and template review
  • Five ranked recommendations
  • Written findings and investment ranges
Discuss a snapshot

Deeper decisions

Technical assessment

$1,000 to $1,500

A broader manual investigation for sites with more templates, conversion paths, analytics questions, or technical uncertainty.

  • Performance, SEO, accessibility, and measurement
  • Prioritized roadmap and success metrics
  • Review call and fixed-fee next-step options
Plan an assessment

These prices assume a straightforward marketing website with public pages and standard tooling. Larger sites, applications, multiple domains, custom integrations, or incomplete access may need a broader assessment. We will explain that before you commit.

Make the improvement

Move from findings to a finished result

An assessment should create direction, not another document that sits unread. Once the work is understood, we propose a fixed investment for the smallest useful outcome.

Explore web development, SEO and performance, or AI integration.

Quick improvement

$1,500 to $3,500

One narrow, well-understood issue taken from diagnosis through implementation and verification.

  • Analytics or form repair
  • Technical SEO cleanup
  • Performance or accessibility fixes
  • A small integration or automation

Focused engagement

Starting at $3,500

A larger defined outcome with a clear scope, success measure, and handoff your team can understand.

  • Landing page or CMS improvements
  • Core Web Vitals remediation
  • Measurement foundations
  • AI workflow prototypes

Keep improving

Ongoing partnerships that grow with the responsibility

Retainers are built around a clear operating scope, a ranked set of priorities, and evidence of progress. They are not bundles of hours, and unused time does not become a backlog of obligations.

Steady support

Ongoing partnership

Starting at $3,000 monthly

One primary platform, a shared priority list, routine oversight, and one focused improvement stream at a time.

Broader ownership

Technical stewardship

Shaped after assessment

A more active roadmap spanning implementation, performance, SEO, analytics, automation, and technical planning.

Agency & enterprise

Embedded partnership

Custom

Senior technical capacity for multiple workstreams, agency delivery, complex systems, or deeper participation with an internal team.

How pricing works

Transparent enough to plan, flexible enough to fit the work

No hourly billing
You buy a defined result or an agreed scope of responsibility. We track effort internally to protect delivery quality, but efficiency never increases your invoice.
Starting prices are real
They represent the smallest version of each engagement, not a teaser price. If the work needs more, we explain the reason and exact investment before anything begins.
Complexity changes scope
Site size, integrations, access, platform condition, number of stakeholders, and operational risk can all affect the investment. Business size by itself does not.
Success is written down
Every paid engagement identifies what should improve, how we will observe it, and what the client controls. That may be speed, findability, publishing time, adoption, or work removed from a repetitive process.

Common questions

Pricing, plainly explained

Do you bill by the hour?

No. Assessments and projects use fixed prices, while ongoing partnerships use a fixed monthly investment. We estimate effort internally, but your price is connected to the agreed result, responsibility, complexity, and risk.

What is included in the free site report?

It is a concise first look at public performance, technical SEO, accessibility, and configuration signals. It includes three useful next steps, but it is not a full audit, implementation plan, analytics investigation, or consultation.

Is an assessment required before every project?

No. If the problem and scope are already clear, we can price a focused engagement directly. Assessments are most useful when several issues overlap, the platform is unfamiliar, or the right intervention is not yet obvious.

Can a smaller business work with IT Bonsai?

Yes. The website snapshot, technical assessment, and quick improvement options were designed specifically to create an accessible first step for smaller organizations.

Do we have to sign an ongoing retainer?

No. Reports, assessments, and focused engagements stand on their own. Ongoing partnerships are available when continuous improvement and technical ownership would create more value than a series of disconnected projects.

Can an assessment fee be applied to the next project?

Sometimes. When an assessment leads directly into a larger focused engagement, the proposal may credit some or all of the assessment fee. We confirm that in writing before the assessment begins.

A practical first step

Start with the smallest useful amount of clarity.

Request a free site report or tell us what is getting in the way. We will recommend the lightest engagement that can produce a meaningful result, even when that means no engagement at all.
